Sports Activities

As all we know, sports have an immense impact on a person's daily life and health. Sports participation can help build character, encourage emotional growth, and teach players and spectators the value of honesty, respect, teamwork, dedication, and commitment. In H. N. B. Govt. P. G. College Khatima, there is a full-time permanent game in charge of sports and Physical Education under whose able guidance and direction various sports activities, competitions, tournaments, and events are organized. Proper training and regular practices are given to students of the College for participation in both indoor and outdoor games.

Every year Inter-degree college sports competitions i.e. Races, Kabaddi, long jumping, high jumping, cricket tournaments, and other athletic activities are held by the department of Sports and Physical Education of the college. Students are benefited by other agencies and the Higher Education Department for the requirements of equipment and facilities to participate in organized sports events

2017-18

In the academic year 2018, Inter-colleges Chess competition event was organized at H.N.B. Government P G College, Khatima, in which 10 teams from different colleges including both the campus colleges of Kumaun University, Nainital, participated in the competition.

During the current session following Students participated as Team member/Player of Kumaun University in various events:

Vaseem of class sem represented Kumaun University Team in the North Zone Inter University Power Lifting Tournament (Second).
Manish Bohra of Class year represented Kumaun University Team in the North Zone Inter University Golf Tournament.
Anil Chand of class II year represented Kumaun University Team in the North Zone Inter University Men Cricket Tournament.
Manisha of Class II year represented Kumaun University Team in the North Zone Inter University Women Cricket Tournament.

2018-19

In the academic year 2018 – 19, Inter-colleges Chess competition event was organized at H.N.B. Government P G College, Khatima, in which 10 teams from different colleges including both the campus colleges of Kumaun University, Nainital, participated in the competition. The team from M. B. Government P. G. College, Haldwani won the championship and the team from D. S. B. Campus college, Nainital remained the first runner up durinmg this event.

The Inter - College Athletics event among the colleges affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital, was organized at Government P. G. College, Rudrapur and It is a matter of pride for us that our college team achieved the position of overall champion.

2019-20

In the academic year 2019 – 20, Inter-colleges Kabbadi competition event was organized at H.N.B. Government P G College, Khatima in which 15 teams from different colleges participated in the competition. The team from M. B. Government P. G. College, Haldwani won the championship and the team from Government Degree college, Bajpur remained the first runner up in this event.

Inter-colleges athletics competition was organized at S. B. S. Government P. G. College, Rudrapur. The girls, as well as boys' teams, also participated in the event, and it is a matter of pride for all of us that the teams won 3 bronze and 2 silver medals.

Two kho-kho girls’ players of the college have been selected as a player in the north zone team.

2020-21

Due to the Covid-19 sports Activities were could not be conducted.

2021-22

In the academic year 2019 – 20, Inter-colleges Kabbadi competition event was organized at H.N.B. Government P G College, Khatima in which 15 teams from different colleges participated in the competition. The team from S. B. S. Govt. P. G. College Rdrapur (U S Nagar) won the championship and the team of H. N. B. Govt. P. G. college, Khatima, remained the first runner up in this event.
